Sexagenarian in the New Millennium

            An old dog learning new tricks, I was born during World War II, grew up in Washington DC and Paris, France then went to college in Cambridge MA in the USA, where I have mostly lived since. Lately my life has consistently been amazing. So I am taking this late in life opportunity to show and tell.
            At the turn of the century I started to write music. I had played 'cello in the Tanglewood Student Orchestra in college. Then between 1983 and 2003 played in community Symphonies and amateur string quartets, During a daily stint on Tabla Drums for five years when my son was little I learned North Indian drum songs. During the 60's I was an architect with a short reprise during the 80's.

                In 2005, I released Three Dance Tracks [really Four], June Funk, Taps, the Mashup Squirrel Island , the Video and Soundtrack Magnificent Maui, a moving still pictures chronicle, and 'cheaper by the dozen' Beethoven Jokes . I posted snapshots from New Orleans French Quarter taken in January, Maui in April-May eMuse self-portraits . Also published the multi-media documentary - Maui Suite , and my Music Videos A Parade of Men and Back To School,. And I set up VIgnettes for short pieces set to video.
             The music writing started when I took an electronic music class back in late 1999 at the Longy School of Music with Kurt Stallman, Joshua Skaller, Neal Farwell. Jeremy van Buskirk helped me set up some Desktop gear. At Longy, the music pieces 'Millennium Medley,' 'Neptunes,' 'To Max in A' were performed as well as some pieces from my 2003 DVD "Singularities": where I set all of my music to pictures. Neptunes2002, Men at Work, Squirrel Island and Winter-Spring 2003.

                        As to the snapshots, film clips and wmvs, these are flashes in the pan. Someone handed me a digital camera before my second trip to Hawaii in October 2002. Since then, I take pictures and clips on some of my rounds to Maui and back and I issue most of my music with a "Realites"-style set of still pictures and/or film clips that chronicle some of the events I've been privileged to witness during the new Millennium.

The Public Library in Hana has collected Maui Suite, 3 MultiMedia Pieces, an AV CD published summer 2004.
I have privately published several CDs:

Distribute Freely December 2001, a collection of soundscapes made in the wake of 9-11
Songs with Whales Summer 2002,
Homage Xtra Winter 2003, jokes and tribute to Beethoven during a heavy time,
as well as several AV CDs and the DVD "Singularities."
